Con Mucho Amor
Friday, September 19th 8PM
508 E 6th Street Austin TX
Con Mucho Amor, supported by Future Front Texas and Downtown Austin Alliance, is a one-night celebration of queer coming of age surrounded by both old friends and new, gathered and connected through dance, ceremony, performances of Quinceañera traditions, and queer archival research.
We hope the activation serves as an example of the world-making that Southern queer communities foster especially amidst the ongoing inhumane anti-immigrant and anti-LGBTQ+ legislation across the country, and as a testament to the resilience, joy, and softness of Southern BIPOC queer people.

Bobby Pudrido
PRODUCER/ CHAMBELAN
Bobby is a Texan-born and raised transgender drag king who started performance art in parallel to his medical and social transition. After moving to Austin in 2008, he realized his lack of connection with the local queer community was part of a systemic issue of racial capitalism, cis-heteropatriarchy, and of gentrification in Austin. His performances and events aim to carve out autonomous spaces of resistant joy for Black and brown Southern queer folks.

This event is for everyone to enjoy. The night was created for BIPOC queer folks, but all are welcome to witness as we carve out a small space for our community in Downtown Austin. If you are an ally, we ask that you are mindful and respectful of the space you take up.
Are the bathrooms gender neutral?

All bathrooms will be marked as gender neutral and you can choose the bathroom that best fits your identity or expression. Please follow ACLU Texas Trans Education Network of Texas Trans Legal Aid Texas and Equality Texas for updates on anti LGBTQ+ bills, how they are affecting our community, and how to support LGBTQ+ Texans.

This event is wheelchair accessible and will be ASL interpreted. We have partnered with Clear The Air who will be providing a large air purifier for the event. If you have questions or concerns regarding accessibility, please email bobbypudrido@gmail.com.
Is there a dress code?
Come in whatever makes you feel your best! The performers will be dressed formally like in a traditional Quince, but with our own flair. As an all-queer lineup, we understand the importance of feeling seen in our clothing and we’re excited to see what that looks like for you!
I want to be a padrine for Con Mucho Amor!
If you have been to a Quinceañera, you know it takes a village and padrines. Please reach out to bobbypudrido@gmail.com if you would like to sponsor the event.
